Elliott Group Announces Closer Global Integration

Jeannette, PA, USA, and Sodegaura, Chiba, Japan, February 26, 2008

The Elliott Group of Ebara Corporation announced today two developments that will result in closer integration of its operations based in the United States and in Japan. The first step is the creation of a unified risk management function that will coordinate a common set of legal and financial conditions for Elliott’s sales and marketing activities around the world. The second measure establishes a single Global Service Department with responsibility for serving all Elliott customers worldwide with consistently high standards and resources.

The Elliott Group comprises manufacturing operations in Jeannette, Pennsylvania and Sodegaura, Japan, as well as sales and service facilities throughout the world. The relationship between Elliott and Ebara Corporation began in 1968 when Ebara obtained a license to manufacture Elliott turbomachinery equipment. Ebara opened the Sodegaura, Chiba manufacturing facility in 1975. For many years, the US and Japanese operations have closely cooperated in areas such as research and development, product engineering, manufacturing, supply chain management and customer service. In 2000 Ebara acquired Elliott Company outright and combined the operations into the Elliott Group.

According to Atsuo Suzuki, President of Ebara’s Fluid Machinery and Systems Company, “The measures we announced today will better enable Elliott to meet customer expectations for the same high standard of supply and competent response regardless of where it is required. These steps will enhance Elliott’s internal efficiencies, resulting in greater clarity of responsibility and more focused application of resources on our customers’ behalf.”

Elliott is a global leader in the design, manufacture and service of centrifugal compressors and steam turbines for use in the oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, LNG and process industries, as well as in power applications. Headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, Ebara Corporation is a major industrial conglomerate with sales of US $5 billion and employing 15,000 people.
