What is your background with Elliott Group? I started out as a Customer Service Representative through a temp assignment.10 months later I was hired as a full time employee and worked in Service Parts for three years. I took advantage of the Tuition Reimbursement program to further my education and earned an M.S. in Management of Technologies. While working as part of the Oracle implementation team, I became a Business Analyst, and was later promoted into the position of Senior Business Analyst.  I worked in IT for 8 years before moving into the Global Services division as a Project Manager of Engineered Solutions and then was promoted into my current role as the Strategic Initiatives Manager for Business Development in Global Service.

How would you describe your career focus at Elliott? I started out in one department, moved around and was able to do completely different jobs within the organization. I created my own future. When I received my degree, I presented my thesis on ERP systems to my boss and did a presentation to the President’s staff. After watching my presentation, the IT Director offered me a position. I take advantage of all training that I can and promote training for all employees. There are grants available from outside the organization to do training as well. Always looking at the big picture has helped to guide my career.

What are you most proud of in your tenure at Elliott? Being a woman in a male run organization and being able to move up within the company. Confidence, assertiveness, and accountability are key to success.

What would you tell a potential applicant about Elliott? Elliott is like a family. What keeps people here are the relationships they have with one another; everyone is so nice. Managers like to challenge people and keep people engaged. Change does happen here. No matter how high people are in the organization, they’re just part of the team. Everyone eats in the same cafeteria. We promote from within and invest in applicants at Elliott.
