What is your background with Elliott Group? I graduated in 2006 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. Shortly after graduating, I was hired as a test setup Design Engineer in Elliott's Heavy Assembly and Test facility in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. I really enjoyed the work. I was involved in everything from equipment assembly and testing, to facilities and capital projects.  After three years, I accepted an assignment as a Project Engineer at Elliott's facility in Sodegaura, Japan. I lived in Japan for three years - adapting to the culture was difficult at first, but in the end, was a great opportunity and I'm very glad that I did it. While in Japan, I became a link between the Jeannette and Sodegaura offices for some key projects.  I speak just a little Japanese - my Japanese colleagues relied on me to give a strong English speaking voice to our customers. During this assignment, I traveled to places I never thought I'd see - Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and Australia, to name a few. I returned to the United States in 2013 and have enjoyed sharing experiences from my time in Japan.

Currently, I am a Plant Facility Engineer in the Maintenance Department. I enjoy the shop atmosphere and being able to work on capital projects. I coordinate with contractors on a daily basis and I am up and moving most of the time.

There are a ton of opportunities and different things that you can learn about within Elliott - compressors, steam turbines, instrumentation, electronic control systems, auxiliary systems, and manufacturing processes. Since jumping over to the Maintenance Department, I have had the opportunity to become experienced with boiler systems!

What have you enjoyed the most during your tenure at Elliott?  Travel. Everything I got to see and do! I have met customers from different cultures and colleagues who work at other Elliott locations around the world.
