Plant Oils

Sustainable, Renewable Biomass Derivatives

Plant oils, often derived from the seeds of the plant, are an important resource for the world's food, oleochemical, and biofuel industries. The seed or kernel of the oil palm produces palm kernel oil, widely used by the oleochemical industry. Palm oil, used mostly in food products, is derived from the flesh of the palm fruit. Elliott steam turbines and turbine-generator sets provide process power and electricity at remote oil palm plantations in Malaysia, Indonesia, and other tropical regions.
